When Jenny Lind, the world-renowned opera singer, visited Northampton, Massachusetts in July, 1851, she was taken to the top of Mount Holyoke and shown the view. She exclaimed, "This is the paradise of America!"
I spent the better part of summers in the 1990's schlepping a 35 pound Toyo 8x10 studio camera all over the Connecticut River Valley (not to mention getting it through security at LAX...). I shot almost exclusively with Kodak TMax 100 and Fujichrome 50 (especially when it became pretty much impossible to get Kodachrome processed anywhere). I also re-confirmed that this territory is geologically, agriculturally, intellectually and visually a true paradise of America.
